Zilkaats Estate

A different kind of resting place.

Set within the Magaliesberg Biosphere, Zilkaats Estate is a private memorial and conservation park, one of the first of its kind in Africa. It brings together conservation, cultural custom and modern security within a single protected landscape, so a loved one’s resting place becomes part of the land itself rather than a plot in a conventional cemetery.

This is a truly African natural burial estate, built around honouring legacy and cultural tradition in a setting of real natural beauty.

Natural burial is at the heart of everything we do at Zilkaats. We encourage a simple headstone complementing the natural setting, and families may plant an indigenous tree as a living memorial that becomes part of the landscape.

Every plot includes the lifetime maintenance of the burial grounds.
