At Zilkaats, natural burial means a loved one's resting place becomes part of the land itself rather than a plot in a conventional cemetery. We encourage a simple headstone complementing the natural setting, and families may plant an indigenous tree as a living memorial.

Each burial plot accommodates up to two people, or a single burial.

Yes. Families who wish to be laid to rest together may reserve multiple plots within one area of the estate. Private walled family areas and mausoleums can also be developed and quoted to a family's own requirements.

Yes. You can secure a plot in advance for yourself or on behalf of someone else, who will then be asked to sign the ownership documents in their own name once the plot is allocated to them.

A right of interment at Zilkaats Estate runs for 99 years from the date of burial.

Yes. Every plot includes the lifetime maintenance of the burial grounds.

Yes. Zilkaats welcomes traditional ceremonies of every kind, with no limit placed on the time a family needs. Our chapel and venue can host a funeral of any size.

Yes. We work alongside the funeral services provider your family has chosen.

Burials can often be arranged within a day of first contact once documentation is in place. With plot capacity exceeding 400 000, availability is rarely a concern.

Yes. Prospective families are welcome to view the estate by appointment.

Yes. The Preserve offers a pet cemetery at Zilkaats that is secure, cared for and treated with the same respect shown to every family.

Not yet. Crematorium facilities are currently in planning at Zilkaats and are not yet operational. Further details will be announced shortly. Families may already mark a resting place with an eco-urn and a tree.

Access is controlled at a single, guarded entrance with 24/7 security patrol, and every family member receives their own access card.
