THE CONSERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES

Our Natural and Green burials take place in locations of great beauty and conservation value, providing both solace and sustainability.

Natural burial avoids the use of toxic embalming chemicals that can harm morticians and the environment such as soil pollution and ground water contamination.

  • It conserves precious resources such as hardwoods  normally used for caskets and thus protecting natural forests.
  • The use of metals (used in conventional caskets) as well as concrete (for burial vaults) is restricted and the impact on the environment is therefore reduced.
  • For individuals who want to reduce their carbon footprint after death, a natural burial can be an excellent way to reduce this impact.https://www.joincake.com/blog/natural-burial

THE PROTECTION OF THE HEALTH OF INDUSTRY WORKERS

Conventional embalming make use of formaldehyde, a carcinogen. Regular exposure to these chemicals,
leads to health risks. It has been known to be mutagenic (an agent, such as radiation or a chemical substance,
which causes genetic mutation).

Other health effects include burning of the eyes, irritation to upper respiratory passages, pneumonitis, wheezing, productive cough, and dermatitis. Formaldehyde is also known to cause cancer.

Green burial prohibits conventional embalming. There are now formaldehyde-free alternatives to conventional embalming fluid, however, make up mostly of essential oils, which have been approved by the Green Burial Council and will not harm the health of the embalmer.

COST AND SIMPLICITY

Cost of funerals and burial has in most modern worlds become one of the highest priced and most expensive industries.  Therefore this enhances the advantages of natural burial, which in the true green sense also conserves financial resources, often being much more cost effective and economical than a conventional funeral and memorial works.  In the absence for expensive processes such as embalming.
